Tagak takes Seva Sankalp outreach to Wakka border village
Itanagar, Oct 5: Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak on Monday visited Wakka village in Longding district, one of the first villages along the Indo-Myanmar border, as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, and announced Rs 15 lakh from the MP Local Area Development Fund for the Wakka Anganwadi Centre.
Tagak also announced another Rs 15 lakh for a Model Anganwadi Centre in Longding district, to be identified by the Deputy Commissioner, Longding, from among the best-performing centres.
During the visit, the MP attended the Aangan Milan Seva programme and interacted with children, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers. The programme focused on strengthening community engagement and understanding the challenges faced by frontline workers and children in remote and border areas.
Tagak heard the concerns raised by the ASHA and Anganwadi workers, and assured them that their genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action.
Interacting with the children, the MP encouraged them to focus on their education, maintain good health and pursue their dreams with confidence. He emphasised that children living in remote and border areas should have equal opportunities and access to essential services.
He also appreciated the dedicated services of ASHA and Anganwadi workers and helpers, who continue to serve communities despite difficult geographical conditions and limited connectivity in border areas. In recognition of their contribution, he felicitated the frontline workers during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Tagak said the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan was aimed at taking the spirit of service directly to the people, particularly those living in remote, rural and border areas. He stressed that development of border villages was important not only for improving the quality of life of local communities but also for strengthening the nation’s border areas.
The visit reaffirmed the commitment to ensuring that the concerns and voices of people living in far-flung areas of Arunachal Pradesh are heard and appropriately addressed.
Tagak was accompanied by Pongchau-Wakka MLA Honchun Ngandam, Longding Deputy Commissioner Kunal Yadav, Longding ZPC Lohpong Wangham, State Co-convenor of Aangan Milan Seva Techi Nakap Tara, Panchayat leaders, BJP office bearers, the Chief of Wakka village, Gaon Buras and Anganwadi preschoolers.(Source: EoA)
