Tagak stresses spring-water conservation during Kamle visit

RAGA, Oct 15: Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak on Thursday called for scientific and long-term conservation of spring water in Arunachal Pradesh to prevent water scarcity and reduce flood risks in hilly areas during his maiden visit to Kamle district under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
During a ‘Chai Pe Samvad’ interaction with heads of departments (HoDs), Tagak emphasised the importance of protecting natural water sources, particularly springs that serve as a vital source of water for communities in the Himalayan region. He urged the concerned departments to adopt planned and sustainable measures for spring-water conservation, cautioning that improper management of water resources could contribute to flooding and cause loss of lives and property.
The interaction provided an opportunity to review the district’s development priorities, achievements and challenges across key sectors, including education, healthcare and administration.
Deputy Commissioner JT Obi welcomed the MP and briefed him on the overall profile of Kamle district. District Planning Officer Mantu Gyadi presented a PowerPoint overview of the district’s achievements and challenges, highlighting key development-related issues.
Tagak said his visit aimed to strengthen engagement with the public and government departments and improve coordination between the state and Central governments. He emphasised that regular interaction and better coordination were essential to addressing local concerns, ensuring effective implementation of development initiatives and advancing overall development.
The MP was accompanied by Techi Necha, Vice-Chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh Bamboo Resource Development Agency (APBRDA). (Source: EoA)
