Old Lainwang, Sep 28: The Department of District Food & Civil Supplies, Tirap, organised a SEVA SETU Camp at Old Lainwang village on Monday to facilitate the delivery of essential services and create awareness among beneficiaries regarding various provisions and entitlements under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) and the Public Distribution System (PDS).

The camp was led by  DF&CSO Smti Bompi Kadu, wherein officials of the Department sensitised the beneficiaries on various schemes, services and entitlements available under the NFSA and PDS. The awareness programme focused on ensuring that eligible beneficiaries are well informed about their rights and the procedures for availing government benefits.

The key areas covered during the camp included:

Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) – Free foodgrain distribution to eligible Priority Household (PHH) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries.

Ration entitlements – AAY households are entitled to 35 kg of foodgrains per household per month, while PHH beneficiaries are entitled to 5 kg per person per month.

e-KYC facilitation for ration card beneficiaries.

Mobile number and Aadhaar seeding to facilitate authentication and access to PDS services.

Enrolment of eligible uncovered beneficiaries under PMGKAY/NFSA.

Grievance redressal, enabling beneficiaries to raise and resolve issues related to PDS services.

Renewal and online updating of ration cards, including AAY, PHH and other eligible household categories, wherever applicable.

The camp witnessed the participation of hundreds of beneficiaries, along with Gaon Burahs (GBs), Head Gaon Burahs (HGBs), PRI members and members of Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs).

The initiative aimed at bringing government services closer to the people, strengthening awareness about food security entitlements and ensuring that eligible beneficiaries have access to the benefits and services available under the PDS and NFSA.(DIPRO)
