ITANAGAR, Sep 25: Chief Minister Pema Khandu has been elected unopposed as the president of the Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) for the 2026–30 term.

Khandu expressed gratitude to the members of the Association for reposing their trust in him and congratulated the newly elected members of the Executive Committee.

The election was held during the 24th Annual General Body Meeting of the APFA, where representatives of District Football Associations discussed the challenges facing the sport and deliberated on the way forward for football in the state.

Khandu said the APFA would work towards building a stronger football ecosystem in Arunachal Pradesh and ensuring greater representation of the state in national football.

He also emphasised creating more opportunities for talented players from the state to progress to the national level and eventually represent India on the international stage. (Source: EoA)
