Khonsa, Aug 26: Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Khonsa Forest Division, organised a Ceremonial Plantation Drive at Khonsa, Tirap district, Arunachal Pradesh, under the nationwide initiative “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0.”

The plantation drive was attended by Hon’ble Minister for Environment & Forest, DoTCL and other departments, Shri Wangki Lowang; Hon’ble MLA, 57-Borduria-Bogapani Assembly Constituency and Advisor to the Hon’ble Minister for Environment & Forest, Shri Wanglin Lowangdong; Commander, HQ 25 Sector Assam Rifles; Commandant, Assam Rifles, Khonsa; Deputy Commissioner, Tirap, Shri Badonlum Tawsik, APCS (AG); Superintendent of Police, Tirap, Shri Aditya, IPS; ADC Khonsa, Shri Namneet Singh, IAS; Commandant, CRPF; and other civil dignitaries.

The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage active community participation in afforestation and conservation efforts. The ceremonial plantation also highlighted the shared responsibility of government agencies, security forces, civil administration and the community in protecting the environment and preserving the region’s rich natural heritage.

The event reaffirmed the collective commitment of all stakeholders towards environmental conservation, sustainable development and building a greener and healthier future for Tirap and Arunachal Pradesh. (DIPRO)
