Khonsa, Oct 14: The Commandant of 44 Assam Rifles chaired a coordination conference with the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Khonsa, senior officials and the wife of Havildar Late Hangpan Dada, AC, to discuss preparations for the 1st Edition of the Hav Late Hangpan Dada, AC Memorial Cup Football Tournament – 2026.

The meeting deliberated on key arrangements, including event management, security, logistics, interdepartmental coordination and player participation to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the tournament.

The tournament aims to honour the extraordinary valour and supreme sacrifice of Hav Late Hangpan Dada, Ashoka Chakra awardee, while inspiring the youth to uphold patriotism, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship. It will also provide a platform for emerging football talent and promote a positive sporting culture in the region.

The initiative reflects 44 Assam Rifles’ commitment to youth empowerment, community engagement and nation-building. The participation of the civil administration and other stakeholders highlights their collective commitment to making the event a grand success.
