The Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh Shri. Naresh Kumar attended a Video conference conducted under the Chairmanship of Shri. Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Union Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
The VC was held with all the Chief Secretaries of Union Territories and North East States to review the COVID-19 situation in the UTs and the NE states.
The Chief Secretary Shri. Naresh Kumar updated the MHA on various strategies of the State Government which have been put into force in order to curb the spread COVID-19 in the State.
He informed that the Government is following three main strategies to stop the spread of Corona virus in the State. Firstly, extensive tracking and testing, secondly enforcement of COVID Appropriate Behaviour and thirdly vaccination drive of all the beneficiary age groups.
State has completed vaccination of 68 % of the target beneficiaries (18 years and above-1st dose). The Chief Secretary requested for an additional 3 Lakh Covid-19 Vaccine in order to achieve 100 % coverage of 18 years and above age group by next month.
On opening of the State, the Chief Secretary informed that any person who is entering Arunachal Pradesh, we are ensuring that he/she has to be vaccinated before entering the State.
He informed that there are two RTCPR Units in the State and every district has TrueNat Machines of appropriate capacities for COVID testing purposes.
The Chief Secretary further informed that the State is improving the Health Infrastructure even in remote areas. Oxygen and Oxygen beds have been made available and trying to add another 500 oxygen beds in the State in near future. Medicine in sufficient quantity is available, he informed.
On the issue of discrepancy on the data of the ICMR and the State COVID-19 data, the Chief Secretary told the members that it will be rectified by coming Monday.
