Yupia: With rest of the country, Papum Pare District also celebrated 72nd Republic Day in a befitting manner here at Mini ground Yupia today.
Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu graced the occasion as chief guest. He unfurled the ceremonial flag followed by the national anthem by the school children and guard of hour by ITBP personnel.
While addressing the gatherings DC Pige Ligu greeted the public and paid homage to martyrs for their supreme sacrifices and remembered the million of silent workers each of whom is working towards realising the collective dream of a prosperous Arunachal and a self-reliant nation.
He further expressed gratitude to all frontline workers especially health department for their yeoman service in combating pandemic COVID-19 and also thanked each and every one of those who have sincerely devoted their services in peaceful conduct of Panchayati Raj Election in the district.
The DC also highlighted new developmental programmes in Education, Health, Power, Agriculture and Horticulture which are for the benefit of people of Arunachal Pradesh.
He also felicitates the officers and staffs with Commendation Certificates for their meritorious services during Panchayat Raj Election. Main attractions of the day were prize distribution, colourful cultural programmes by local cultural troupes and Bharat Natyam.
Among others attended the celebrations were SP Papum Pare, ADC (Hq), Admin officers, HoDs, ITBP Personnel, Police Personnel, Govt officials, school children, GBs, and public.
