Fire devours 34 grocery/vegetable vendors in Pasighat market

PASIGHAT, Dec 3:About thirty-four grocery/vegetable vendors were gutted down in a massive blaze that took place inone of the APMC market sheds on Monday at around 12.30 am in Pasighat main market area (Gandhi Chowk). DC TamiyoTatak and DDMO rushed to the spot and took stock of situation. Fire tenders were pressed into service immediately to control the situation but nothing could be saved. The blaze caused huge losses, depriving many traders of their livelihood. Investigation is under way to unearth the cause of the accident.

Local MLA KalingMoyongin a message to the DIPRO has termed the incident very unfortunate and asked the East Siang administration to provide all possible help and compensations to the victims. He also asked denizens to take all precautionary measures so that such incident could be avoided. Moyong appreciated the fire fighters and the people of Pasighat for their courage in controlling the blaze.

Meanwhile, ADC TatdoBorang along with a team of officers visited the spot this morning. Borangassured to provide admissible relief immediately to the victims after receiving of the board verified report.

Prominent leader and former Minister BosiramSiram also visited the area, interacted with the traders and assured to few young night guards for safety of market area. He also advised the fire services to be alerted with man and machineries, round the clock to prevent such unfortunate incident in future.

Many political party workers also visited the spot today.
