Itanagar, August 7: As a follow up action to the meeting of Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) with the Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa in New Delhi on 1st August 2018, a team of officers from Indian Air Force, 11 Airmen Selection Centre, Guwahati interacted with the students and faculty members of Government Dera Natung College, Itanagar, Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic College, Itanagar and Don Bosco College, Jullang, Itanagar on 7th August 2018. Director, Information and Public Relations, Shri Obang Tayeng, Director Higher & Technical Education, Dr. Tayek Talom, Director Secondary Education Shri Gania Leji, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shri Talom Dupak, EAC Toko Babu along with officers from IPR, DHTE, DSE and District Administration were present during the interaction.
Interacting with the students and faculty members, Officers from Indian Air Force, JWO Surendra Kumar Saxena and Cpl Manish Chaudhary informed that the Indian Air Force is going to conduct Recruitment Rally for eligible unmarried male candidates of the State to join as Airmen in Group’ Y ‘(Non- Technical) ( Automobile Technician(Auto Tech) and Indian Air Force(Police IAF(P))) Trades. The Rally is scheduled to be held from 1st to 5th September 2018 for entire North East Region at Air Force Station Borjhar, Guwahati.
JWO Saxena further said that some of the eligibility criteria are, that the candidate should have passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination in any streams/ Subjects approved by Central/ State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. Candidates born between 14th July’ 1998 and 26th June’2002 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally. The team of officers also exhorted the students to join the Armed Forces. They also requested the students present in the meetings to share the information with their friends and family members, peers and other members of the society so that the message reaches every individual.
The officials from IAF also informed that with the initiative of the Hon’ble Governor, an Airmen Recruitment Rally would also be held exclusively for the candidates of Arunachal Pradesh in the month of October. The youth of the State must participate in the rally.
Reiterating the appeal of the Governor, the IAF officials requested the parents, guardians and faculty members of the colleges to encourage the youth of the State to join the IAF.
Chief Secretary Satya Gopal has directed Deputy Commissioners of Itanagar Capital Complex and Ziro to provide logistic support and assistance to the Indian Air Force representatives for effective dissemination of the recruitment rally.
Leaving no stone unturned to reach out to the interested and eligible youths of Arunachal Pradesh to appear in the Airmen Recruitment Rally, CS also directed Director, IPR to give proper media coverage and publicity through their medium.
In this regard, earlier a meeting was also held in the chamber of the Secretary to Governor Vinod P Kavle to discuss regarding the Air Force Recruitment rally. The Secretary said that it is a golden opportunity for the unemployed youths of the state to get employed in the Indian Air Force. He also thanked the IAF for providing the unemployed youths of the state with an opportunity to serve the nation with pride and glory.
The team will go to Ziro on 8th August and interact with students of Saint Claret College, Ziro and Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Science University, Ziro. On 9th August, they will be interacting with students of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 and National Institute of Technology, Yupia amongst other.
So far, more than 15 Airmen Recruitment rallies have been conducted involving the State after 2014 and those selected are serving the nation with pride in the Indian Air Force in various categories.
