Itanagar May 26 : In presence of Pema Khandu ,Chief Minister and Jambey Tashi, Parliamentary Secretary, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and other senior officers a MoU was signed by Onit Panyang, Secretary, Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (SDE) representing the State Govt. and Jyotiska Maitra, Asst Vice President Orion EduTech Pvt. Ltd, Kolkata on Friday. The second party will provide employable skill development training under PMKVY both in Kolkata and Arunachal Pradesh with 70 per cent job guaranteed to pass out trainees.
Pema Khandu ,Chief Minister inaugrated the first of its kind skill development training centre of the state at vivek vihar under a flagship programme of Pradhan Mantri Kaushak Vikash Yojna (PMKVY) in the presence of Shri Jambey Tashi, Parliamentary Secretary, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (SD&E), Shri Onit Panyang, Secretary (SD&E), Shri Subu Tabin, Director (SD&D), Shri Jyotiska Maitra, Asst Vice President Orion EduTech Pvt. Ltd and other senior officers of the state and officials of the Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
Orion EduTech Pvt. Ltd Kolkata is a Training Partner with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and State Skill Development Mission under PMKVY. The first of its kind Training Centre in the state has been established by Orion Edutech Pvt Ltd, at Vivek Vihar Itanagar. 240 youth are undergoing training in Food & Beverages Services and Front Office Executive under Tourism & Hospitality sector at Itanagar.
The CM also flagged off the first batch of 60 youth who left for Kolkata on being sponsored by Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for undergoing skill development training in same sectors and job roles. The cost of the training are being born by the Government. In other words the youth are receiving training in free of cost. Besides, after successful completion of the training minimum of 70 per cent of the trainees will be provided job.
Addressing the trainees the Chief Minister highlighted the various steps taken by his Govt. to provide impetus the process of skill development programmes in the state for the betterment of the youth mostly school dropout.
” Through high-end skill programmes the government seeks to provide decent jobs & income, Rs 20 crores has been allocated under Chief Minister Yuva Kaushal Yojana which is new scheme launched in the state for high-end training to 1000 students” said Chief Minister
“The vision of Honorable Prime Minister of India is to empower the youth through skill development training in various economic sectors and to make India the skill capital of the world. Towards that direction 86,000 youth are to be trained under PMKVY alone in the state upto the year 2020 and 70 percent of it to be given job placement which is a challenging task and the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is striving hard to achieve it” Said Jambey Tashi.
“We have plan to establish 5 more new ITIs under CSS and 60 Chief Minister’s Livelihood School/Multi Skill Development Centre, one in every 60 assembly constituencies in phase manner for which we have submitted the proposal to be included under priority list of NEC. We have also planned to establish a “Regional Institute for Training of Trainers” which could be considered under North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) – erstwhile NLCPR, to ensure quality trainers to provide quality skill development training in the skill ecosystem” informed Tashi.
Onit Panyang, Secretary delivered the welcome address and called upon the youth to avail the Govt. schemes for their betterment and livelihood.
Subu Tabin, Director, SDE highlighted the skill development scenario in the state through a power point presentation. He also highlighted the on going activities of the vocational education sectors including Industrial Training Institutes (ITI). The programme was also graced by Madhu K Garg, Secretary to Govt.of Arunachal Pradesh, Himanshu Gupta, Special Secretay CMO, Nitu Tsering Glow, Special Secretay SDE, Fr.Cyriac Director, DBYC and other official of the department.
